Tomorrow We Die Alive is the third release from the progressive deathcore band Born of Osiris. It was first released on 8/20/2013, through Sumerian records. Tomorrow We Die Alive is the first album to be published since the departure of their lead guitarist, Jason Richardson, leaving them with only one remaining guitarist, Lee Mckinney. Due to the huge success of their previous album, The Discovery, there were a lot of hype and hopes for this upcoming album, and fans were excited but nervous to audition the BoO without Richardson. I believe Tomorrow We Die Alive is a solid release by Born of Osiris with a lot of great moments, but The Discovery is still a better album overall.

This…is going to be brutal. Tracing Back Roots by We Came as Romans was released on July 23, 2013, through Equal Vision records. It is the band’s third full length record, and it features Kyle Pavone on clean vocals, and Dave Stephens on screamed vocals. My experience with We Came as Romans has been fairly limited, as I have previously only heard two songs, “To Plant a Seed” and “Broken Statues”. I thought that they were both pretty interesting songs, and both sounded quite well. However, I didn’t know what to expect when I began to listen to this album, and sadly, I wish that I had never did. I found the album to be fundamentally flawed in so many different ways, and the erratic production touches definitely do not help their cause.

“Uprising” is third album released by the young British deathcore band Bleed From Within, and it succeeds their two prior albums, “Humanity” and “Empire”. The band was created in 2005, and was first able to experience international exposure when they toured with Megadeth back in June of 2013. “Uprising” was released in March of this year via Century Media Records, and has been praised by many metal fans and reviewers. I believe this record to be a solid deathcore release, and, although not without flaws, displays a lot of talent and intensity that Bleed From Within is able to perform.

Disarm the Descent is a pivotal album released by the famous metalcore band Killswitch Engage, featuring Jesse Leach as the new lead vocalist to replace Howard Jones. Jones had left the band due personal health issues, and the band went out and found their original singer to fill his role. Many fans were skeptical about Jesse, and did not know what to expect when Disarm the Descent was released. Although Jesse had previously sung in the band’s debut album, Alive or Just Breathing, that had been ten years ago, and many fans had started following KSE after Howard’s arrival. Since Leach has rejoined the band, he has answered the skepticisms and doubts emphatically, producing a masterpiece of an album in Disarm the Descent.
